News
Please prayerfully and financially
support our Compassion child, Senthia Atis.
Senthia lives in Haiti and has, along with her parents,
survived the terrible earthquake and subsequent
hardships in Haiti. Senthia is a 13 year-old girl
who enjoys sewing and being with her friends at school.
Our Youth Group has supported her through Compassion
International since September of 2009. Please
remember to pray for her weekly and help contribute to
the $38 monthly support that we are sending to
Compassion for Senthia each and every month.
WHY
SEND YOUR CHILD(REN) TO A CHURCH CAMP?
A Church camp is really a Christian community in which
adults and youth endeavor to make whatever contribution
they are most capable of making to the life of the
entire group. It is an opportunity for adults and
youth together to live out one's faith in the happenings
of the week, be sensitive to one another's needs, an act
in the best way one knows how to help each other.
Also, at Church camp, although we attempt to teach
skills, the "skill learning" is secondary, learning
about one's self and about caring for each other is
primary. Learning how to swim, bike, canoe, ride
horses, shoot archery, etc. at camp is great; but
learning and caring about oneself, about others, about
the world around oneself, and about God are what the
time is really all about.
Educators have documented the benefits of participating
in structured adventure activities such as Ropes
Courses, Outdoor Living Skills, etc. on child
development. Development of new confidence in
oneself, increase in logical reasoning skills,
improvement in problem-solving skills, and increase in
shared decision making are all identified benefits of
participating in facilitated adventure activities.

board or go to
